The book presents the authenticated interpretation of al-Jīliy (‘Abdul-Karīm al-Jīliy, d. 826 H.) of the Chapter of Secrets from al-Futūhāt al-Makkiyya- ‘Meccan Revelations’ by the Grand Shaikh Muhiy al-Dīn bin-‘Arabiy (d. 638 H.). This chapter (numbered 559) is considered one of the exquisite Sufi rhetorical masterpieces as it epitomizes the culmination of mystic expression that is second to none. al-Jīliy limits his interpretation to the first ten sections of the chapter, as he presumably considers them adequate to highlight the spirit and thoughts of Ibn ‘Arabiy.
