The
second volume of the Catalog of Abūl-‘Abbās
al-Mursiy covers 744 manuscripts on jurisprudence and
related subjects (four schools of Islamic law, futwas, inheritance,
law of descendant and distribution and others), constituting the
largest group in the collection of the mosque. Among the most
significant rarities are: a rare autograph manuscript of al-Ašbāh
wa al-Nazā’ir– ‘Similarities and Equals’ by
Ibn Nujaym al-Misry, and an anonymous book on Shafi‘i jurisprudence
dated back to 608 H. (the oldest manuscript included in this volume).
