The
significance of the Catalog
of the Escorial Library lies in the fame and importance of its contents of Arabic
manuscripts, though what was published does not exceed a small number
from the Escorial collections. Some of the reviewed Arabic manuscripts
are exceptionally rare, since they are the only surviving copies all
over the world, such as the autograph of Libāb
al-Muhsal written by the eminent savant Ibn Khaldūn in 752 H. in Maghribi
handwriting.
Number
of pages: 858.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina, 2002.
